Building Bridges: The Art of Cross-Cultural Communication
Are you looking for a practical, hands-on workshop where you can learn to increase your cross-cultural sensitivity and take your communication skills to a new level? If so, then this workshop is for you. You will learn to:
  • Understand the importance of cultural sensitivity for rich, fruitful cross-cultural communication
  • Understand your learning styles
  • Understand your communication and how you relate to others
  • Identify your strengths as a communicator
  • Make the best use of your strengths
  • Build and maintain healthy, respectful cross-cultural relationships
You will learn first hand about cross-cultural sensitivity and how to make the best use of your communication and learning styles. You will practice using specific skills to understand how you relate to others. At the end of the workshop, you will have the basic skills necessary to understand and transform how you relate to co-workers, friends, and family members. This workshop will provide you with cross-cultural awareness and skills you can use for the rest of life.

Gloria J. Burgess, PhD, consultant, educator, and executive coach works with organizations throughout the US and Canada to develop cross-cultural competence. Gloria teaches cross-cultural studies, leadership, and management, at the University of Washington, Leadership Tomorrow, and formerly at Bastyr University's Center for Applied Behavioral Science - The Leadership Institute of Seattle. Gloria also creates special programs on cross-cultural awareness for corporations, health care organizations, universities and schools, and foundations.

Gloria Burgess, Ph.D., is an organizational consultant, educator, producer, performer, and author of Journey of the Rose, and The Open Door which reflects her passion for spirit-filled work. Gloria speaks throughout the US and Canada on leadership, creativity, change, and cultural diversity. She is on the faculty of University of Washington, and Leadership Tomorrow, and formerly on the faculty of Bastyr University/Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS),. Gloria is currently writing a book on courageous leadership and is founder and executive director of The Lift Every Voice Foundation.
